sophie induction evaluation

Induction evaluation

1. Explain the task.
In this task we had to work in pairs, one person had to film and the other person had to be filmed, we had to produce a film of what we loved while growing up and we had to bring in a picture of us when we were younger and include it on the film. After we made our film we had to upload it onto the Mac and edit it. We had to then make a blog and post it on our blog.

2. Explain how you came up with your idea.
I came up with my idea because when I was little I loved Barbie and seeing as there was a lot for me to say about Barbie that would be the perfect choice for my film.

3. Describe how you planned your project.
I planned my project by making mind maps on paper and writing down what I might need for my project I also wrote up a shot list.

4. Explain what you learnt about using cameras and tripods.
First of all I learnt about cameras, I learnt how to zoom in and out. What button to press to put the tape in and how to fast forward and rewind on the camera. Using the tripod I learnt how to pan, panning is useful because you can look around the place where you are filming. Tripods are handy because if your hands are shaky you can put the camera onto a tripod, I also learnt about different angles i.e. high angle low angle. I included a close up and a long shot in my project.

5. Explain what you learnt about editing using final cut pro.
I have learnt how to edit bits of film and songs using final cut pro.I have also learnt how to use cube spin and cross dissolves to give a bit of space in between each scene and to help it fade in and fade out.

6. Explain about uploading your finished project onto
Your blog and creating a DVD of it.
I exported the file into a mov file then turned it into a small flash file using flash video encoder I then uploaded this on my blog. I made it into a DVD by using I -DVD .

7. Evaluate your project saying what works well and what doesn’t work so well.

What works well in my project is the Barbie music because it fits in well with what my project is about, also I think the transitions helped my project to come together. I believe what doesn’t work so well is how i've put the scenes together I believe some of them clash and come on at the wrong time.

8. Sum up what the main learning experience has been for you on this
I have learnt how to use a video camera and before my media lesson id never even held one before and now I know how to use one and make a film with one.
